The BOB Project did not begin with a pitch deck or a product roadmap. It began with a woman in a networking room who said she felt unworthy, and a founder who could not stop thinking about it. What has grown from that moment is a community of over 500 women-led brands, a co-founded platform built on the pairing of technology thinking and brand strategy, and now a full AI-enabled SaaS discovery platform that is still, by its founder’s own admission, only the beginning.
We spoke with the founder about organic community growth, building authenticity at scale, and why choosing yourself is not selfish. It is necessary.
The BOB Project started with a very human observation. Take us back to that moment of realisation. What did you hear that you simply could not unhear?
I remember meeting a woman entrepreneur who, by all measures, was doing incredibly well. Her business was growing, and she was building a meaningful life. Yet when she spoke about networking spaces, her tone changed. She said: I feel unworthy. People do not take me seriously. They assume it is just a hobby.
That stayed with me. It was not just her story. It was a pattern. The BOB Project was born from that moment. We wanted to create a space where women entrepreneurs are not only seen but genuinely respected. Where their efforts are acknowledged, their voices heard, and their confidence strengthened so they can step into the world unapologetically.
You co-founded this with Shipra Jena. You bring the technology and product thinking, she brings the brand and PR strategy. How does that complementary dynamic actually show up in the way the project is built and run?
I truly value having Shipra as a co-founder. While I focus on technology, product thinking, and building scalable systems, she brings deep expertise in brand and PR. We both believe that no matter how strong a product is, it cannot thrive without the right narrative and visibility. That balance is what makes The BOB Project work. We are building not just a platform but a brand with purpose. It is this combination of product and perception that allows us to grow thoughtfully and sustainably.
The community grew to 500 plus women-led brands before you even built the technology platform. What does that kind of organic pull tell you about what women entrepreneurs in India have been missing?
That kind of organic growth was a strong signal. It validated something we already sensed. Women entrepreneurs are not just looking for networks. They are looking for safe, judgment-free spaces. Spaces where they can ask questions openly, share struggles without hesitation, and find real solutions.
The fact that over 500 women joined before we built the tech showed us that the need was not for another platform. It was for a different kind of experience entirely.
In 2026, The BOB Project made a significant leap from curated brunch meetups to a full AI-enabled SaaS discovery platform. Walk us through that evolution. What made it the right moment to build the tech?
As we grew, we realised that the challenges faced by women in our community were not limited to one city or even one country. If we truly wanted to create impact, we needed a scalable solution. That is what led us to build an AI-enabled SaaS platform.
What started as curated brunch meetups has now evolved into something much bigger. This is still just our MVP. We are building toward a much larger vision. While we cannot share everything yet, what I can say is that we are focused on creating a global ecosystem where women founders can discover, connect, and grow seamlessly.
You run BrainyDX Technologies alongside The BOB Project. How does thinking like a technology entrepreneur shape the way you think about community?
Thinking like a technology entrepreneur changes how you see everything, including community. You start thinking in terms of scalability, systems, and long-term impact. You ask: how can this help not just 100 people, but 100,000?
Technology opens up endless possibilities. For us, it is not just about building a community. It is about building an ecosystem that can continuously evolve and create value at scale.
Women founders still face real, structural challenges around funding, visibility, and access to networks. What can a community like The BOB Project do that institutions and programmes simply cannot?
Institutions and programmes play an important role, but what they often lack is real-time, human connection. At The BOB Project, the strength lies in the community itself. Whether it is accessing the right mentor, getting honest feedback, or solving real business problems, women can tap into a network that genuinely wants to see them win. That is our biggest differentiator. We do not just provide resources. We create meaningful connections that lead to real outcomes.

Authenticity is at the core of everything you are building. In a world full of curated highlight reels and performative networking, how do you actually protect that as you scale?
Authenticity is something we are very intentional about protecting. We communicate transparently, set clear expectations, and define what the community stands for and what it does not. As we scale, this clarity becomes even more important. It helps us attract the right people and maintain the integrity of the space. Growth without alignment is noise. We are focused on building with intention.
If The BOB Project were a brunch dish, something that looks effortless but took real craft to get right, what would it be and why?
An avocado sandwich. It looks simple, but getting it right takes balance. The ingredients are minimal, but the quality matters. That is exactly how we see The BOB Project: clean, intentional, and thoughtfully built.
What is the most honest thing a woman founder has said to you inside a BOB space that has stayed with you?
One thing I hear often, and it stays with me every time: when women choose to prioritise themselves, they feel guilty.
That is deeply concerning, because building something meaningful requires space, energy, and self-belief. If that comes with guilt, it becomes even harder. It is something we are actively trying to change, helping women see that choosing themselves is not selfish. It is necessary.
What is coming next for The BOB Project and why does it matter for women-led businesses everywhere?
We are building a space where women entrepreneurs can truly grow end to end. From showcasing their brands and gaining visibility, to hosting workshops, running events, and connecting with like-minded founders and mentors, it is all coming together in one ecosystem.
What we are creating is not just a platform but an opportunity engine. And that matters, because when women-led businesses grow, they do not just build companies. They build stronger communities and economies.
